Real Madrid fans on social media praised Andriy Lunin after their 1-0 Copa del Rey First-Leg semi-final victory over Real Sociedad on Wednesday (26 February). The Ukrainian goalkeeper was excellent in the goal, making various crucial rescues that took care of the victory of Los Blancos.
Endrick scored the only goal of the match in the 19th minute after a brilliant lofted pass by Jude Bellingham. In the 43rd minute the shot of Mikel Oyarzabal was saved by Lunin, who used his reflexes well. Thus the half-time score remained 1-0 in favor of Madrid.
In the 50th minute the header of Oyarzabal was rescued by Lunin again. Despite the urge of Madrid for a second goal and the wish of Sociedad to equalize, the game ended 1-0 in favor of Los Blancos.
In his stint on the field, Lunin maintained a transient accuracy of 85% (33/39). He made six saves in goal, registered one punch, two clearance and had a rating of 8.9 (via Sofascore).
