Although Kaitlin Olson is best known for playing Dee’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, her latest role takes a step away from the usual narcissism, vulgar and the general lack of morality in the hit of FX.
In a great potential she plays Morgan, a single mother of three with an impressive IQ of 160. Morgan has an extremely valuable ability to view one look at things and easily solve problems thanks to her photographic memory, obsessive attention to detail and encyclopedic knowledge.
This skill accidentally ends up in the world of resolving crimes for the LAPD, even though they have no background in the police world. That is a lot about the annoyance of Adam Karadec, an established detective that would rather do things with the book. It is a similar starting point as the British hit Ludwig, with an American turn.
Although episodes of a high potential are still being rolled out in the UK, they are now all available to stream in the US. But will the show return for more? We have collected everything you need to know.
Does a high potential get a season 2?

When can a high potential season 2 be released?
ABC has not yet announced when a high potential will return, but Kaitlin Olson revealed in a Q&A during a London display of the premiere for Disney+ (where Tech advisor was present) when the filming is expected to begin:
“I just packed hacks … yes so season four is just ready, it’s always sunny in Philadelphia … I ended the end of last year – season 17 comes out … In the spring I believe. And I go home and am a few months of mother and then then We start to photograph this again in May.“
For reference, the first season started with filming the Pilot episode in March 2023 and production resumed for the rest of the season as soon as the show was picked up a year later -so March 2024, ending in the late summer after a short break due to a show runner switching.
The first season hit screens in America in September 2024, so a fairly rapid change from production to release.
Assuming that there are not the same delays in production for season 2, there is a chance that High potential could return to the fall of 2025 To coincide with the new season schedule of ABC – the same time with season 1 hit screens in 2024.
However, the kick -off date of the production is later than the first season. Moreover, the Deadline article states that this will be a larger season, so filming can take longer and the release can be later than expected – Possibly pushing the high potential season 2 broadcast date up to 2026.
The UK can also get a delayed release, just as it did with season 1. Once we know more, we will update this article.

What is the plot for season 2 with a high potential?
Spoilers for a high potential season 1 below
No logbook rule for season 2 has yet been unveiled, but Olson’s interview in the UK Disney+ Premiere gave us some indications about what could be investigated in season 2 – one of which includes Morgan’s earlier family life:
“We didn’t have time to delve into her youth, but that is the plan to see a little what happened when she was a child. We hint a bit a bit because we don’t have a great relationship with her father later in the season. “
Olson also showed interest in finding more about what is happening in other lives of the detectives such as Karadec and Soto and seeing the story of Ava’s missing father and Morgan’s ex, Roman, unfolding, although details are still ironed:
“… to be honest, our writers room has only been on for one week, so it’s brand new”.
Roman will probably be the key to the plot, because at the end of season 1 it was revealed that Karadec knew that he was alive and his place of residence. Roman turned out to be an FBI informant, which is most likely related to his sudden disappearance.
Showrunner Todd Harthan, however, hinted that this may not be an immediate payment for fans:
“The promise in season 2 is to answer some other big questions, but also to deepen the mystery before we really turn out too much or introduce someone too early.”
Another important character in season 1 was the serial abductor obsessed by the game, David, who left an ominous message to Morgan in her shopping bags that they would again ‘play’ a threat he can find behind her and her family. Harthan also told the wrap that the plan is to “tackle it a bit, find a healthy way to turn to other things and then come back to it if it makes sense.”
Otherwise we can expect more cases every episode, and develop Morgan and Adam’s Buddy-Cop Dynamic. The question is, is it just friendship … or something more? Morgan already had a romantic interest in Concierge Tom (JD Pardo), although he has now moved to San Diego to become a nurse.
