Denver residents hoping for a snowy Christmas this year could be disappointed as forecasters say the metro area can look forward to a mild weekend followed by a cool, sunny week.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the low 60s this weekend, with increasing cloudiness on Sunday and overnight lows in the mid 30s. according to the National Weather Service.
Highs of 54 and 53 are expected Monday and Tuesday, dropping to 49 over Christmas, with some cloud cover.
There remains a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11 p.m. Wednesday night, with more showers possible across the metro area on Thursday and Friday.
Light snow is likely in the mountains on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. reports the NWS.
