In an August 4 interview with CBS’s Lesley Stahl, the host said: “It’s been very well reported that you were the leader of a pressure campaign (to convince Biden to step aside)?”

Pelosi responded: “No, I was not the leader of any pressure campaign. Let me say things I didn’t do: I didn’t call one person.”

However, the politician suggested there was a rift between her and Biden following the president’s announcement to resign. New Yorker she was “praying” that their friendship would survive.

She further revealed that the two have not spoken since Biden withdrew from the race, telling the magazine that she was “losing sleep” over the silence between them.
