Apple TV+ has made a name for itself in the streaming wars, with critically acclaimed shows like Ted Lasso, Slow Horses and Silo in its library. The hit series Severance returns in January, much to the excitement of fans.
The streaming service received a price increase at the end of October 2023, rising to $9.99/£8.99 per month (previously $6.99/£6.99 per month). With the cost of living rising and other platforms raising their prices, shelling out money for yet another subscription isn’t ideal.
Luckily, you’re lucky. Apple TV+ has plenty of free trials for customers to take advantage of. If you want to stream without paying a cent, read on. We have now also collected our favorite TV series on the platform.

Watch Apple TV+ for free this weekend
If you don’t even want to commit to a free trial, you don’t have to. From Saturday January 4 to Sunday January 5, Apple TV+ will open its doors to everyone for two days, allowing people to stream everything for free. You don’t even have to sign up for an account.
Severance season 2 releases on January 17, 2025, so now is the perfect time to give the series a try if you haven’t already.
Get a seven-day free trial of Apple TV+
This option does not require you to make any additional purchases or own any devices. All you have to do is head to the Apple TV+ website, sign up for a free trial with a brand new account, and start streaming.
You could theoretically binge a series and then cancel before the trial period is over. Additionally, Apple also offers several episodes of its TV shows for free without requiring you to sign up for anything. So you might want to check these out first so you can save all the time you can get during your one-week free trial.
After you use a seven-day free trial, you won’t be able to use it again. This is for new customers only.

Get a three-month free trial of Apple TV+ with any new Apple product
If you buy a new Apple product – such as the iPhone 16 – you are entitled to three months of completely free streaming. Eligible products for this deal include any new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac. Unfortunately, the Apple Watch, HomePod and AirPods are exempt from the deal.
After you purchase your device, you have 90 days to claim your free trial. Here are the steps you need to take:
- Open the Apple TV+ app on your new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Click on the show you want to watch and the ‘Enjoy three months free’ option should appear
- Click ‘Continue’
- Confirm that you are starting a free trial
- The page will confirm that your trial is now active
- After the three months have passed, you will be charged the standard subscription price
This offer only applies to new Apple products, so if you purchase refurbished or pre-owned technology you may not qualify.
As far as we know, you can’t stack free trials. So if you buy a pair of new AirPods a month after getting a new iPhone, you’ll probably have to sign up for a new account to claim a separate free trial.

Currys also offers this benefit when you buy certain products – and this is available for a whole range of different things, not just Apple devices. Again, this is for new Apple TV+ customers only.
