Google normally hosts a major launch event in the second half of the year, and 2024 is no different.
However, as the company has now confirmed, the next Google launch event will take place earlier than usual this year. We also have two official teaser videos of some of the devices we’re expecting.
However, other new hardware and software announcements are also expected during the Made by Google event. Here’s everything you need to know about it, including how to watch live.
We also have an article about the new rumored Google TV Streamer.
When is the next Google event?
In an official teaser video, Google has confirmed that the next event will take place on August 13, 2024.
This is when the event starts depending on where you are:
- UK: 6pm BST
- US West Coast: 10am PT
- US East Coast: 1:00 PM ET
- Central Europe: 7:00 PM CET
Based on last year’s event, it should last about an hour.

How to watch the Google event live
Google has yet to confirm where the event will be broadcast live.
However, since the company owns YouTube, it is almost certain that it will be broadcast via the Made by Google YouTube channel. We’ll embed the stream here as soon as it becomes available.
If previous years are anything to go by, it can also be viewed via the Google Store.
What will Google announce at its next event?
New hardware is usually the main focus of a Google event in the second half of a calendar year, and it looks like the company has a lot planned for 2024.
Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro
Firstly, Google has already confirmed that the Pixel 9 Pro will be launched at the event. While we haven’t received an official announcement about the standard Pixel 9 yet, we expect it to launch alongside the Pro variant.
There have been a lot of leaks so far, including promotional material, so we already know almost everything about both new phones. However, there are a few things we still don’t know, including the price.
Pixel 9 Pro XL
The Pixel 9 Pro XL, which would be a larger variant of the Pixel 9 Pro, has also been around for months.
While we haven’t received an official announcement at this point, if recently leaked promo material proves to be true, we could potentially get two Pro models, with the standard at 6.3 inches and XL at 6.8 inches.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold
In addition to the announcement of the Pixel 9 Pro, Google released a trailer for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to the original Pixel Fold.
Surprisingly, this device will no longer be a separate product, but will belong to the Pixel 9 family. That suggests it will have a lot more in common with regular phones.
You can read everything we know at this point in our Pixel 9 series summary article. We also have a separate summary article on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Pixel watch 3
The Pixel Watch 3, the successor to the Pixel Watch 2, is also expected to be seen.
The watch is said to be available in two sizes for the first time: 41mm and 45mm, but it appears to be a refinement of last year’s model in most areas.
Pixel Buds Pro 2
Google is also expected to refresh its range of wireless earbuds with a new pair of Pixel Buds.
The original Pixel Buds were released in July 2022, so it would make sense to see a new generation at the event. Rumors suggest a slight redesign and some bold new colors.
Android 15
It probably won’t all be hardware, though.
AI is expected to be at the forefront of the Pixel 9 series, and since it’s also central to Android 15 (which Google announced at its IO developer conference in May), it would make sense for the new OS to debut here.
However, given the earlier Pixel launch this year, Google may wait until the usual October slot.
