Huawei will never be outdone by rivals like Apple and Samsung and has just announced no fewer than six new smartwatches.
We’re all about advancing consumer choice and Huawei’s new wearable range, including the GT 5 series and the Watch D2, does just that. There are different sizes, designs and feature sets to choose from.
With prices starting from £229.99, let’s dive into these new wearables.
Huawei Watch GT5
The new GT 5 series are the smartwatches that can closely compete with the likes of the Google Pixel Watch 3, Apple Watch Series 10 and Galaxy Watch 7.
Huawei offers the device in 41 or 46mm sizes, but with dramatically different designs. The smaller one is more feminine while the larger one is more masculine and there are different colors to choose from.

The 41mm GT 5 lasts up to seven days, while the 46mm doubles that to two weeks.
Both benefit from Huawei’s new TruSense system, with faster and more accurate tracking of health metrics than previous models. However, the Pro models have some additional hardware and software features (see below).

Huawei Watch GT5 Pro
Choose a Watch GT 5 Pro and you get the choice of sizes 42 or 46 mm and, like the regular model, each has a contrasting design. The larger model can last up to 14 days, which is double the smaller size.
Besides choosing which design you like best, the Pro models add some extra lures for the extra money.

Huawei Watch Ultimate Green Edition
This device is not completely new, but an updated version of last year’s Watch Ultimate.
The Green Edition adds an exclusive “two-tone nano-tech ceramic bezel,” which Huawei says requires a more complex manufacturing process.
The color is appropriate thanks to the new Golf Course Mode that offers all kinds of tracking and insights for those who like to play 18 holes. It can even map your swing and help you improve. Although this is available on the GT 5 Pro above.
There’s also a new Expedition Mode and the device is compatible with both Android and iPhone.
Price: £749.99/€899 (free pair of FreeBuds Pro 3 earbuds until October 22)

Huawei Watch D2
Touted as a “game-changing innovation,” the Watch D2 is the world’s first “wrist-based, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) device certified by NMPA and MDR.”
It means the D2 can provide accurate blood pressure readings 24 hours a day, just like you would expect your wearable to track your heart rate 24 hours a day. According to the company, this is part of the TruSense system for faster and more accurate results.
The ultra-narrow mechanical airbag is housed in a slim and light design, yet has a large 1.82-inch display. It could be a game changer for anyone who needs to monitor blood pressure wherever they are.
A Heath Overview report can also be generated with nine different body indicators with one tap.
