The story of Hastings is a good example. She lives on payments on social security, the government clearly manifests itself once a month in its bank account. But those benefits only go that far. The work of the center also depends on federal dollars, some direct, some have passed by the state, as well as other money that only comes from the government of West Virginia.
Even as soon as the federal dollars started to flow again, and the young man who picks up Hastings, the entire operation felt weak. Hastings could not help it, but worry that her “living” journeys could disappear. She may occasionally afford an uber if she really needed it, but certainly not three times a week. “The doctor said:” Why are you so upset? The non -profit can only hope that his subsidy would continue to come.
