Hyderabad:

Telangana native Mohammed Sufiyan, who eventually started working as a support staff for the Russian army after being duped by a job placement agent, returned home on September 14. The return of Sufiyan (22), who belongs to Narayanpet district, puts an end to the painful situation. waiting for his relatives who were concerned about his safety while he helped the Russian army in the war with Ukraine.

Mr Sufiyan said he was promised a security-related job and was not told to help the troops in the war. He was told that he would have to undergo training for three months, after which his salary would increase.

Mr Sufiyan, who left India in November last year, has worked as a support staff for the Russian military.

Speaking to PTI in July this year, Sufiyan’s brother Salman hoped for his brother’s early return home after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia.

Russia had agreed to India’s demand to ensure early release of Indian nationals working with the Russian military as support staff after Prime Minister Modi raised the issue “very strongly” with President Vladimir Putin during his visit.
