When the second season of Invincible ended, fans began to worry that they would have to wait another long time for new episodes. Although the creators promised that there would not be a two-year gap between seasons this time, they did not indicate a possible release date for when the series would return. Fortunately, thanks to the first teaser of season 3, we know exactly when Invincible will return to Prime Video.
Invincible season 2 covered the story of dealing with trauma and entering adulthood, but also featured gruesome battles, alien invasions, and journeys to other dimensions. Many fans may have thought it would be mainly dedicated to the fight against the Viltrumites. It turned out that the creators were still preparing for a future war. The Viltrumites are trying to take over Earth peacefully (by their standards) so far, and Mark and his allies are looking for weapons against their powerful enemies.

When could Invincible season 3 release?
The third season of Invincible debuts on Prime Video Thursday February 6, 2025 with a three-episode premiere.
Season 3 was greenlit in 2021. The creators of the series were aware of the impatience of fans. Robert Kirkman, author of the Invincible comic series, told Variety that there will be no repeat of the two-year gap between seasons. In March 2024, Steven Yeun, who portrays Mark Grayson, confirmed to Collider that work on season 3 is already underway.
In Season 2, the creators even jokingly explained how complex the animation process is – talking about the scene where Mark talks to the writer of his favorite comic book and series at Comic-Con.
What is the plot of Invincible season 3 about?

For now, the makers have not announced an official plot description for season 3. However, thanks to the first teaser, we know that Mark will receive some serious training in the new episode, which would prepare him for the battle against the Viltrumites.

Nolan’s redemption arc
After the massacre on Earth, his stay on the planet Thraxa and his reunion with Mark, Omni-Man was filled with remorse and longing for his family. Does this mean he gets to battle the Viltrumites in Season 3? First he’ll have to break out of prison, probably with the help of the adorable Allen the Alien.
Remember, of course, that Nolan is very old and the Viltrumite ideals are deeply ingrained in him. As an ally, he can even be unpredictable.
The search for weapons against the Viltrumites
It turned out that the boring books Nolan wrote years earlier were memories of past adventures and not science fiction stories. In the novels, Omni-Man smuggled information about artifacts and creatures powerful enough to harm the Viltrumites.
Among them, the Infinity Ray, possessed by Space Racer, appeared. It is a weapon that emits an unstoppable energy wave that can destroy everything. Another threat to the Viltrumites were the Rognarrs, lizard-like creatures that inhabit a planet with high gravity, which gave them extraordinary strength.
Mark may seek out Space Racer and the Rognarrs in Season 3 to convince them to fight the Viltrumites.
Mark’s younger brother
A purple baby boy named Oliver, son of Nolan and the empress of the planet Thraxa, could play a vital role in season 3. It is still unknown what characteristics the mixed DNA of a Viltrumite and alien bug will have, but Oliver could surprise with his superpowers.

The Revenge of Angstrom Levy
The highlight of the season 2 finale was the clash between Mark and the disfigured scientist, who was once a pacifist who dreamed of bringing happiness to all dimensions.
The bloody clash ended with Angstrom’s death, but does that mean we’ll never see him again? Not necessarily. Levy has had several versions of herself in alternate universes, so in season 3 we may see the return of Mark’s nemesis.
The romance of Mark and Atom Eve
Mark and Amber’s relationship on the rocks was no surprise in season 2. In another dimension, Invincible discovered that Eve has feelings for him. While he hasn’t decided to ask her out for now, this could change in season 3.
The relationship between Monster Girl and Robot
Amanda and Rudy finally went on their first date, but their relationship quickly became awkward. By the end of the season, however, they had cleared the air. The girl agreed to accept the help of Robot, who wanted to stop the harmful effects of her transformation into a monster.
In season 3, Rudy will presumably try to find a solution to Amanda’s problems, as she became biologically younger with each transformation. Will these efforts succeed and not yield sinister results? In Invincible nothing is certain.

The Invasion of Sequids
After being rescued from the Sequids and returning from Mars, astronaut Rus tried to rebuild his life. However, while cleaning up his apartment, he was attacked again by an octopus-like creature that had apparently managed to reach Earth.
In an Alien-esque scene, Sequid entwined Rus and took over his body. So, in season 3, Invincible will likely face an invasion of body-grabbing space parasites.
