Daredevil: Born Again has officially fallen, with an explosive and dramatic opening that certainly did not stop brutality.
In the midst of all the bones and the throwing knife was a line that may have just set up for something huge in the MCU-a story superhero fans have been waiting for years.
But is this just an Easter egg or a sign of something bigger? Let’s take a deep dive to find out.

The Kingpin shouts Spider-Man in Daredevil: Born Again
Wilson Fisk has his way back to the top clawed (although we still have many questions about how), after we have landed the coveted task of mayor of New York City.

An important policy of his campaign was that he would ban Vigilantes – those who in their own hands – in the city. It is clear that this is a problem for Matt Murdock as Daredevil, but it can also be a problem for another important Marvel character.
In his New Year’s Eve speech, which was broadcast on the scenes of Times Square in episode 2, Fisk attracted the unsafe streets of New York, and gave the following quote – Note the Bold section:
‘Thank you, New York. Vanessa and I, we offer our deepest greetings. It is humiliating to sit here and talk as mayor tonight. Start of the new year, and above all, a new era for the largest city in the world. This city is in ruins. Crime, poverty, a feeling of discomfort, as if a moment can explode things.
“But New Yorkers are difficult. We know how to take care of ourselves. We do not need a gunwear who carries a skull on his chest, Or a man who dresses in a spin outfitOr a man who wears devil horns to save us. No. We will be our best again. ”
In the latter part, he calls Punisher (Frank Castle) and Daredevil (Matt Murdock), but he also refers to Spider-Man-Aka, Peter Parker.
Sony
The third Spider-Man film, No Way Home, concludes with Doctor Strange who knew Peter’s identity from the heads of everyone who met him-that includes Matt Murdock, who gave him some advice earlier in the film.
A news item from J. Jonah Jameson, however, confirmed that Spider-Man is still active in the city people knowing that the mysterious masked hero is fighting crime, and clearly, Wilson Fisk has taken note.
So why is this such a big problem?
Fisk was originally a Spider-Man-Schurk
While Netflix fans know Fisk as an enemy for Daredevil, he made his Marvel Comics debut in the Amazing Spiderman #50 in 1967.
He also played as a villain in other Spidey properties such as the ninety Spider-Man animation series and in the Spider-Verse.
Fans of the MCU have required to see Tom Holland and Vincent d’Onofrio go on the screen, but that has not happened yet. The fact that Matt has technical Previously, Peter met (even if he doesn’t remember) gives hope that a Spider-Man and Kingpin can be face-off where the MCU officially goes.
The two superheroes recently worked together in the animated your friendly Spider-Man district on Disney+, with actor Charlie Cox who stepped into the speech-working position, so that the wishes of fans are further fed to see a crossover between the two Marvel properties.
However, creatives behind the scenes do not give away too much now.
Marvel Studios trivializes a Spider-Man vs Kingpin story
The chance that Tom Holland makes a cameo in Daredevil: Born Again is unlikely, and that is due to a court between Disney and Sony. Marvel Studios Head of TV, Streaming and Animation Brad Winderbaum explains more about the Podcast Phase Hero:
“I’m not sure what the rules are, but I think they have long television rights at Sony … He can do as an animation of 30 minutes, I think.”
So, unless Marvel tries to hijack us all (it would not be the first time), it is unlikely that we will see the web-garland in season 1 of Born Again, although that does not mean that another deal cannot be eliminated for season 2, which is filming this year and in 2026 … the same year as Spider-Man 4.
But what about the Daredevil -Leads that appear in a Marvel film with Peter Parker? Well, again, the latest reports don’t look too promising. Fisk actor Vincent d’Onofrio gave the following quote to Meltdown Press in February when he was asked about their involvement with Spider-Man 4:
‘Well, for you, we are not. You can ask that because we are not in Spider-Man 4, or at least nobody told me that we are. ”
Again, it can be an extensive double bluff, but that is the only word we have so far. Separately, Charlie Cox shared his enthusiasm with GQ in 2025 with regard to being involved in a future Avengers film (such as Doomsday of Secret Wars), who could also play Tom Holland:
“I would like to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something. For a few reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I am strange, because of the character, the feeling that it would be very cool to get that kind of upgrade. ”

So even if Peter Parker Daredevil and Kingpin do not meet in Born Again season 2 or Spider-Man 4, one of the Avengers films could still be an option.
If not, then KingPin’s line might be a small teaser for fans to enjoy … but forget Marvel’s track record of misleading fans with fake trailer images and Andrew Garfield in every interview in every interview when he is asked as Peter Parker. Hope is still alive until we hear differently.
