Isabella Rossellini has joined Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX series “The Beauty” in a recurring guest star, Variety has learned.
The “Blue Velvet” star and “Conclave” Oscar -nominated entry previously announced series Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope and Rebecca Hall.
The television of FX and the 20th century refused to comment. A representative for Murphy could not be reached immediately for comment.
‘The Beauty’, from co-makers Murphy and Matthew Hodgson, received an 11-delivery order from FX. The series, currently in production, is based on the image strip series with the same name by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. Although character and plot details are stored under wraps, a description of the comic series reads as follows:
“Modern society is obsessed with external beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee that you could become more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? Physical perfection is feasible in the world of ‘The Beauty’. The vast majority of the population have used it, but detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover that it will come to a terrible price. ”
Rossellini, best known for her roles in “Blue Velvet”, “Death becomes her” and “Fearless” is in for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role as Sister Agnes in the Papal Drama “Conclave”. The Italian actor has also received a Golden Globe nod for HBO’s “Crime of the Century” and an Emmy nomination for “Chicago Hope”. Her other credits are ‘cousins’,’ Wild at Heart ‘,’ Joy ‘and’ La Chimera ‘, in addition to memorable guest star roles in’ Friends’, ’30 Rock ‘and’ The Blacklist ‘. She is represented by Uta.
Peters, Murphy, Hodgson, Kutcher, Ramos and Pope are executive producers of “The Beauty” alongside Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Dederich and Eric Gitter. The series is produced by the 20th television in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy is under a general deal at Disney, including the 20th television.
