A 38-year-old man is accused of shooting a 17-year-old in the face while the teen sat in his car and was writing a note asking a Jefferson County homeowner for permission to take photos around her house for the coming period. date of homecoming.

The 17-year-old told sheriff’s deputies that he and a friend drove to the property to get permission to use it as a place to take homecoming photos, the news release said. The boys parked at the gate, jumped the fence and walked into the driveway to talk to the homeowner.

No one seemed to be home, so the teens walked around the property to see if the homeowner was outside. After being unable to find the owner of the property, the teens returned to their car and began writing a note asking permission to use the property as a backdrop for the homecoming photos, the news release said.

That’s when Metz, who the teens said they had never met, allegedly drove into a truck, got out and fired a shot into the car’s windshield, the sheriff’s release said.

The homeowner had called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to report trespassers when she saw the teens walking through her property. She also called Metz, her boyfriend.

When an officer arrived, he found two cars on the side of Pleasant Park Road and the teens outside with Metz next to them. The victim’s face was bleeding profusely and his friend applied pressure with a T-shirt, the news release said. The deputy found a gun in Metz’s truck.
