Pierre said at the press conference: “We are alarmed by the reports about the spread of the … false images.”
“As social media companies make their own independent decisions about content management, we believe they can play an important role in enforcing their own rules to prevent the spread of misinformation and non-consensual, intimate images of real people,” the press secretary continued . .
“Unfortunately, all too often we know that lax enforcement disproportionately impacts women, and unfortunately girls, who are the overwhelming targets of online harassment and abuse.”
