Jennifer Aydin weighs in Andy Cohen called her Jersey Mike’s drama a “self-inflicted wound.”
“I haven’t seen it. Someone told me about it. I haven’t heard that,” he said Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 47, told exclusively We weekly on Wednesday, January 8. “But you know what? I would say that is correct.”
Aydin made headlines earlier this month for her unexpected feud with several Jersey Mike’s employees. The Bravo personality posted a video to her social media page claiming she was waiting for “what felt like forever” for service from the deli. An employee who was there then shot back at Aydin via TikTok.
Cohen, 56, later called the moment a “self-inflicted wound” on his radio show.
“She melted. And you know what, before you hit ‘send,’ take a moment and say, ‘How is this going to land?'” Cohen said during the Monday, January 6 episode of his SiriusXM show RadioAndy. “How are you going to cause yourself so much trouble? … You’re at the airport and you get a sandwich. … It’s just: how is this going to land?”
On reflection, Aydin acknowledged that she should not have posted the video of her interaction with several fast food workers.
“I have to realize that posting it is essentially a self-inflicted wound. I didn’t think it would end like this,” she explained on Wednesday. “I thought people would see the video and say, ‘How rude was this guy to you?’ And he doesn’t even know you, so that’s fine. It’s all good. Lesson learned.”

“[Bill] took all the kids, went to another stall with a table, ordered food. It was about 6:30 in the morning,” Jennifer said. “Jersey Mike’s didn’t open until 5:30, and my cousin and I got on the line around 5:45 and there weren’t that many people on the line. Again, it was a little slow, but we weren’t going to complain.”
When Jennifer placed her order, Bill was not with her. When he joined her later, Bill mentioned that one of their children ended up wanting a sandwich and Jennifer tried to add the item after she had already placed her order. The employee allegedly told Jennifer that if she wanted another sandwich, she would have to get back in line or ask the man next in line if it was okay if she went to the counter to to order another item.
“In the video they were still working on my sandwich. It’s not like I had paid. I didn’t check out,” she claimed. “So when they told me I had to wait until the end of the line or that I had to ask this guy’s permission, that really started an argument. They shouldn’t have done that and that’s just customer service. I realize now that I can’t say, “I’m a celebrity.” People are very angry. … I won’t say I’m a celebrity anymore because people are so angry about it. But obviously this wouldn’t have gone as viral as it did if I hadn’t been a public figure.”
After Jennifer’s social media outburst went viral, the fallout included her being dropped from an upcoming reality star cruise. In addition to shooting, the RHONJ The future of the cast remains up in the air after the show went on hiatus after season 14. Although the direction of the show is in limbo, Jennifer is confident everything will work out and says she has “respect” no matter what Bravo decides.
“I feel like by the time they’ve regrouped and even thought about who they’re going to recast, or if they’re going to recast, this will be such a water under the bridge. So I don’t really think that’s a thing,” she shared Us. “Plus, by the time they reconfigure who comes on staff, I don’t know where I’ll be at that point in my life. I am a big believer in God protecting me and my blessings being evidence of my lifestyle in the good that I do. I always pay it forward all the time.”
