When Chris Wallace asked about his fortune during a CNN interview, David refused to give a definitive answer.
Yet the public remained curious about his achievements.
“I don’t have anything close to what I would have,” David said Rolling stone in 2011. “My wife got half of it, the whole thing is ridiculous, and yet people are obsessed with the fact that I made millions of dollars from syndication. The bottom line is, ‘Jerry deserves it, he starred in it, you you’re lucky!’… It doesn’t suit me, that’s why it’s unusual for someone with my personality to have it, that’s what’s skewed, right?
