And it’s a blunt reminder of how Harris’ rival once supported her, the “Morning Joe” co-host said.
“For Harris tonight, I think the first thing is what I would do if I were Harris [is say]’Donald, thank you very much for your political contribution to me in 2014. I really appreciate it, without it I wouldn’t be here.’”
Trump gave a total of $6,000 in two donations to Harris’ campaign for California attorney general in 2011 and 2013.
Ivanka Trump, his daughter, gave Harris’ campaign $2,000 in 2014.
Elsewhere on “Morning Joe,” Scarborough noted how Trump’s attacks will focus on Harris and President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy and the border, and that he will return to those themes repeatedly.
The panel also talked about how Harris’ use of the words “old” and “little” could trigger her opponent.
