Johannes Stamos shows solidarity with his friend and former TV castmate Dave Coulier during his battle against an aggressive cancer, but some people online are taking issue with his method, calling him insufficiently committed to the cause.
Stamos posted a few photos on Instagram from fellow “Full House” actor Dave Coulier, in which Stamos wears a bald cap and shaves Coulier’s head, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment following his recent cancer diagnosis.
Coulier is battling stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer. The photo shows Stamos shaving Coulier’s head, and the friends are both smiling. A third shot shows Dave’s wife, Melissaand John both kissed Dave’s freshly shaved dome.
But because no good deed goes unpunished, online trolls are taking offense and calling out Stamos for being “shallow.”
Several commentators disagreed with Stamos’ decision to wear a bald cap. Some seemed to suggest that donning a bald cap wasn’t really a commitment for his friend. “You really couldn’t shave your head, brother?” said one.
“I can’t help but feel like you’re using Dave’s diagnoses to make yourself more likable,” said another commenter, with another commenting: “You made sure you posted it on Instagram to get those likes too.”
Others were in favor of Stamos showing his support, calling it inspiring: “If Dave isn’t offended by this, you shouldn’t be either ☺️and remember…John is an actor and may need his hair for work. “

Coulier announced his diagnosis just last week, and that has already happened treatment started. Stamos and Coulier, both in their sixties, worked together on the popular family show ‘Full House’ in the 1990s. Bob Saget died in 2022 of a head wound. They all worked together on the show’s reboot, “Fuller House.”
Coulier said he’s been told he’s 90 percent “curable” — and he certainly seems to appreciate John’s gesture. Attention trolls!
