A lot depends on how Todd Philips’ new feature will perform at the global box office. However, Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to be one of the biggest films of the year. We assume it will attract fans of the DC universe, movie buffs and music lovers who want to see how Lady Gaga will perform on the big screen.
If the audience for Joker 2 is indeed large, Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, will have no reason to release the film on VOD anytime soon. The studio’s highest-grossing films from 2023 and 2024 – Barbie, Wonka, Dune: Part 2 or Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire – arrived on digital platforms a month and a half after their theatrical release.
So if Joker: Folie à Deux doesn’t fail at the box office, it could become available for purchase or rental around mid-November 2024.

When will Joker: Folie à Deux be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
In the US, physical copies of Warner Bros. films generally appear soon after the VOD release. The smash hits mentioned above, such as Barbie or Dune: Part 2, were released on DVD and Blu-ray just a month after being released on digital platforms.
If Joker: Folie à Deux follows a similar path, its physical copies could become available around mid-December 2024. Due to the upcoming Christmas and shopping frenzy, this date would work in favor of sales profits, so this prediction seems likely.
When could Joker: Folie à Deux be released on streaming services?
It’s harder to determine when a new Joker movie will hit streaming because Warner Bros. there is no fixed pattern here.
Barbie didn’t reach Max until nine weeks after its release on DVD and Blu-ray. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire lasted three weeks, while Wonka only took 10 days. In contrast, this year’s massive blockbuster, Dune: Part 2, arrived on streaming just a week after the physical editions were released.
