Jon Moxley to kick out popular star from Death Riders after the events of AEW Dynamite? Analyzing the opportunities

Death Riders

The Death Riders have been a powerful faction since their formation a few months ago. The group took out anyone who stood in the way of Jon Moxley’s vision for AEW.

However, the group seems to have a weak link in Wheeler Yuta. When Mox and his team turned on Bryan Danielson, Yuta was not involved in the decision and was shocked. This shows that they may view him as less than the rest. The 28-year-old was not an original member of the Death Riders and only joined them after Mox defeated Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship.

Looking back on their days in the Blackpool Combat Club, Yuta always seems to be the weakest member of the group. They always treated him like an errand boy. This week on Dynamite was a perfect example of this when The Decoder was the one pinned during the Death Riders’ trios match against Rated FTR.

The purveyor of violence might come to see him as a burden. If Moxley wants to achieve his vision, he must get rid of those who hold him back, and this could mean Wheeler Yuta. He could ask Claudio Castagnoli and PAC to perform the task of attacking Yuta and kicking him out of the group, similar to what they did with Bryan Danielson. This may be the best path forward for the group to maintain its dominance and send a message that even one of their own would not be tolerated when it came to the overall goal of Jon Moxley and his Death Riders.

Konnan is no longer a fan of Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley and the Death Riders have done some controversial things in a short time. Mox is responsible for booking the storyline and while they try to come across as a dominant force, the group has come under scrutiny from fans and legends lately for their lackluster booking.

Speaking of his Keep it 100 official podcast, Konnan recalled first hearing about Jon Moxley from a WWE trainer. He admitted that he was impressed after watching one of his promos in India. However, based on his current bookings, Konnan said he was no longer a fan of Mox.

“I remember Norman Smiley who works at a similar training guide in WWE and I remember him saying, here’s a guy… what was his name before Moxley… Dean Ambrose. He goes, there’s a guy named Dean Ambrose , you gotta watch out for him because he’s very different. He walks to the beat of his own drum and he’s going to be a star one day and so I went looking for him and I saw this promo he did in the indies. and I was like, ‘Wow! This guy is good.’ So I was a big fan of Dean Ambrose Moxley too, I’m not a fan of what he’s doing now,” he said. [2:15 – 2:55]

Jon Moxley won’t be happy after the Death Riders’ recent loss to the Rated R Superstar and FTR. It will be interesting to see if there are any consequences for Wheeler Yuta.
