A press release issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment of the Balearic Islands on Tuesday, August 13, states that the production company behind the clip “did not request permission” for the filming.
The document also claims that the environmental organization has received “numerous information” about “alleged violations” committed by the production company while filming in the protected sand dunes of S’Espalmador.
We weekly has contacted Perry’s team for comment.
The video, released on August 8, was directed by Stillz, a Colombian-American photographer and film director whose real name is Matias Vasquez.
“In no case had the production company requested permission from the ministry to conduct the filming, and therefore preliminary investigation measures have been initiated,” the press release said.
It also clarified that unauthorized filming is not a “crime against the environment,” but rather an infringement.
The carefree video stars Perry, 39, who is seen on a ferry to the party island of Ibiza. The mother of one, who shares daughter Daisy Dove, 3, with fiancé Orlando Bloomfrolics in a bikini on the sandbanks of a beach, probably the private island of S’Espalmador, before reaching her fun destination.
Once the first American Idol judge reaches Ibiza, she parties with friends in several bars and clubs.
“Lifetimes” is the second single from Perry’s upcoming album 143 and follows “Woman’s World,” which received mixed reviews when it was released on July 11.
143out September 20, is Perry’s first new album in four years. It’s promising to explore the singer’s current dance-pop era.
“I wanted to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic numerical expression of love as an ongoing message,” Perry said in a statement to Variety on July 10. The album title is code for “I love you.”
In April, Perry started teasing 143a project inspired by her daughter. “What she has given me in my life [is] the unconditional love I was always looking for,” Perry said E! News at the time. “Yes, that is what I create from. Just wholeness, happiness and just real, complete love.
