King Charles III And Rod Stewart shared a playful moment with pruning shears.

The King, 76, and the rocker, 80, appeared together at an event celebrating the 35th anniversary of Charles’ charity, The King’s Foundation, in Scotland on Wednesday, January 15.

At Dumfries House, where the foundation has its head officeCharles presided over a time capsule ceremony – placing meaningful objects in a wooden box – such as Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancasterwatched. “The items will focus primarily on what inspired people to spend their time protecting the built and natural world,” the release said. ‘Once collected, the time capsule will be buried on the Dumfries House estate and opened in a hundred years’ time.’

Charles, for his part, seemed cheerful amid his health problems. The monarch announced in February 2024 that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer following a procedure to correct an enlarged prostate. During his annual Christmas address Last month he referred to his diagnosis.

“From a personal perspective, I extend a special, heartfelt thank you to the selfless doctors and nurses who have supported me and other members of my family this year through the uncertainties and fears of illness, and helped provide the strength, care and comfort we needed,” he continued. “I am also very grateful to everyone who offered us their own kind words of sympathy and encouragement.”

Charles’ daughter-in-law Kate Middleton revealed her own cancer diagnosis in March 2024, saying she was undergoing chemotherapy.
