Kris Kristofferson spent his final years planning how his family would share his $50 million fortune to avoid a fight over his estate. RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The legendary singer died on Saturday surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Hawaii, at the age of 88.

But leading up to his death, The star is born actor prioritized his family’s financial well-being by ensuring that his fortune would be distributed fairly.
A source said: “The public has an image of Kris as a gruff, grizzled music veteran who took absolutely no nonsense.
“There was that side of him, yes, but there was also a heart of gold in it.

“Knowing he was dying, he spent the past year organizing his estate and putting his $17.2 million ranch on the market so that all his loved ones would be cared for when he was gone – with no room to spare. to fight. been crystal clear about how it should be distributed.”
Last year, Kristofferson put his 550-acre California ranch up for sale for $17.2 million.
The father of eight, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2013, retired from music in 2021 to spend his remaining years with his wife and family.

A friend told The National Enquirer: “Kris didn’t feel like he wanted to tour anymore.
“Now he just wants to make things easier for his family by converting his assets into cash that will go to them when he is gone.”
Kristofferson lived with his third wife Lisa Meyers in Maui, where his property was narrowly escaped the brutal forest fires.

He enjoyed the quiet life towards the end of his days, revealing that he was most peaceful while driving his tractor.
The singer said: “I spend most of my time on my tractor, mowing the lawn.
‘That’s my therapy. No one is allowed to mess with me on the tractor.”
The country music icon played along Barbara Streisand in the 1976 film A star is born – later remade by Bradley Cooper And Lady Gaga – as well as playing the character Whistler in the Wesley Snipes action movies Leaf (1998), Knife II (2002) and Sheet: trilogy (2004).

Country icon Willie Nelson91, described the musician as the greatest songwriter in the world.
Speaking for Kristofferson at a BMI awards ceremony in 2009, he said, “There is no better songwriter alive than Kris Kristofferson.
“Everything he writes is a standard and we all have to live with that.”
Kristofferson was married three times, first to Fran Beer in 1960 before marrying singer Rita Coolidge in 1973.

They divorced in 1980 and years later he married Meyers and the couple had five children, in addition to three other children from his first two marriages.
Confirmation of his death to Peoplea family statement read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 28th.

“Thank you for loving him all these years, and when you see a rainbow, know that he is smiling at us all.”
