A Los Angeles man is in custody after police say he was caught on surveillance video dropping a seven-month-old puppy down an apartment’s stairs.
The clip is gruesome, so watch it at your own discretion: In the video, a shirtless man is identified by police as a 27-year-old Joeboury Coleman He is seen grabbing the dog by the collar, taking him to the banister and then heartlessly dropping the animal.
Concerned residents of the Koreatown residence alerted the LAPD to videos posted on social media… leading to his arrest.
Coleman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to three felony counts of animal cruelty. He is being held without bond and is due back in court on July 22 for a preliminary hearing… according to the LA County District Attorney’s Office.
Aside from Coleman’s arrest, the other good news is that the dog, although injured, survived. In the video you see him running back up the stairs.
Police say the dog was taken to a local animal shelter for treatment of a broken hind leg, consistent with a fall, and may require surgery.
