The Los Angeles wildfires have displaced thousands of people, charred businesses, and destroyed entire neighborhoods… and they’re not even fully contained.
According to the latest updates… the highest warning level for high winds and fire conditions, labeled as a ‘particularly dangerous situation’, was declared by the National Weather Service Wednesday.
The Palisades Fire, which has destroyed large swaths of the famed coastal community, is currently at 19% of its fires — after burning nearly 24,000 acres.
Schools, restaurants and homes – including those of Spencer Pratt And Heidi Montag, Leighton Master And Adam Brody, Jeff Bridges, Anna FarisAnd Odometeramong others – have been reduced to ashes in the week since the fire first started.
The Eaton Fire, which has devastated the Altadena and Pasadena neighborhoods, has made more progress…as 45% of the fire is currently under control.
However, the impact is still enormous… with more than 14,000 hectares burned, destroying places of worship, senior housing and other community buildings.
In total, more than 40,000 hectares have been burned across the region, at least 25 people have been killed and more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed… and unfortunately, these numbers could still rise.
While LAFD and others work around the clock to combat the persistent infernos, the city remains on alert … as Santa Ana winds are expected to peak again on Wednesday, forecast to bring hurricane-force winds.
Los Angeles residents are rallying behind the victims, but Angelenos are contributing to a planned benefit concert called FireAid.
As we reported … the show advantage will be on display at the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum in late January.
We’re told more than 50 artists and bands have asked to take part… but there are only 24 places available at the moment. However, the organizers are trying to add seats to the concert… so expect the biggest and brightest names to be in attendance when the concert takes place.
Celebrities are also shelling out some serious cash to help wildfire victims, such as Barbara Corcoran, Arnold Schwarzenegger, MarshmelloAnd Sofia Vergara they’re all donating to various GoFundMe fundraisers…already helping the site rake in a whopping $100 million in relief money.
Paris Hilton has also been give back in the wake of losing her home, like so many others… showing up at donation centers in LA and doing her part.
It’s an all hands on deck situation for LA right now!!!
