Lady A’s Hillary Scott still feels nothing but gratitude for her husband Chris Tyrrell.
“We will have been married for 13 years in January, and I find it so interesting how we balance each other out so well,” Scott, 38, shared exclusively. We weekly in celebrating her new holiday song “Hard to wait for Christmas‘ with her 11-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye. “The gratitude that I feel in my heart for him and our marriage and where we are now, but even for what’s to come? I feel so lucky that he chose me.”
While the couple has their hands full raising three daughters, including six-year-old twins Betsy and Emory, both Scott and Tyrrell continue to prioritize their quality time together.
“We try to have a date night at least once a month,” Scott said before taking the stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on December 5 for an Opry Country Christmas. “Twice a month we go out and have a small group with a group of couples and it’s a 40 minute drive there and back. Sometimes it’s the 40 minute drive, the dinner and the house where we can just talk, share and be together.”
When their anniversary arrives in January 2025, the couple will head to Colorado, where they plan to “clear our heads, brainstorm and dream for the future.”
“We’re going through a season in our lives where it’s like, OK, what do we do? What do we want to do in the next ten to twenty years?” she said. “We look forward to thinking about and planning for the future.”

While romance is a priority, creating magical memories with their daughters is also high on Scott and Tyrrell’s to-do list.
This holiday season, the whole family came together to take part in the music video for Scott and Eisele’s Christmas song, “Hard to Wait for Christmas.”
“It feels like the most representative of our house every day, just the dance party,” Scott joked Us about the video. “One of the girls is roller skating around the house and the other one is on a scooter, and it’s all us. If anyone is wondering what it’s like to be in our house, it was on set because that’s basically our house every day.”
When Mom or Dad needs a little break to rest and recharge, there is no judgment. Scott was quick to credit Tyrrell for standing up when she needed to get gas. She also likes to do the same when needed.
“There have been times in our lives, especially since the twins came along, when it felt very overwhelming [we ask]’How can we do this?’” Scott said. “But I will say that this season that we’re in right now is just precious.”
Although things can still get complicated as their children explore different extracurricular activities, both Scott and Tyrell try to build their girls up, “encourage who they are becoming” and “discover what they love.”
“They’re so cute now,” she said. “I’m very grateful that I have a partner where there’s just mutual respect and open communication and that I get to walk this parenting journey with him, because it is a journey.”
