'Lego Masters' brings 'Star Wars' and waterfall challenges to season 5

“LEGO MASTERS” starts Monday season 5 with some pretty crazy twists and turns open with their mouths and asked: “What the …?” First: the clock is switched off, which is pure torture for those poor souls.

“It is one of those memories, you have to be careful with what you want,” Jack Jamie Berard jokes. “On the first day the builders are like:” I wish that clock would disappear. ” And it’s going away!

Berard’s assessment partner, Amy Corbett, adds: “Especially when you are in the zone; you make it up and you can completely lose the time. So building without seeing the clock is completely wild – but we don’t want to make it easy for our builders.”

Part of the theme is building this season of the Will Arnett-Hosted Show “Star Wars”, “Wicked” and “Batman” and challenges such as a Masquerade party, a gigantic wedding cake … and the recording of a real, Jumbo format waterfall. “It’s one of my favorite challenges,” says Berard. “We actually have a waterfall that the builders have to make a character that is about the waterfalls. It is super dramatic, but also super emotional. When you see these characters, you can just see that water just melts like everyone’s heart. It’s so good.”

If you look at the show in the course of his five seasons, you can’t help but wonder what it’s like to sit around a table at the LEGO head office in Denmark, Pitching Build and day ideas.

“We have a whole team that works on these ideas and some of them are just a one-hit miracle. Others are in the making, just like years, that we think every year would be so cool if we could make a challenge with water,” Corbett says. “So there is a lot in them, but we also do a lot of tests of the challenges. We try them out. We see how we make them more exciting? How can we push them further? How can we make more spectacular builds? It’s really a process.”

Berard adds: “We also have a very active fangship that is very happy to share their wishes with us, what they like, which episodes were super exciting for them. It inspires even more challenges to come about. So it is definitely a effort’s effort. We really try to find those who are special – but then to be disputed, but then.”

As the challenges become more complicated and more difficult to move – yet stable – parts also require the quantity and types of bricks available to the participants. In fact, the figures will blow you away:

  • The available range of the show included more than 4.5 million LEGO pieces
  • There were more than 3,500 different types of elements available for teams
  • The entire LEGO supply weighed more than 15,000 pounds
  • The minifig wall contained more than 4,000 unique minifigs
  • To break down the builds of just one episode and to sort the stones again in the available stock, it cost a team of more than a dozen people during a full week
  • Participants have access to more than 70 different colors of bricks!
  • The brick well is divided with more than 600 drawers, baking and descending!

The show also increases the number of bricks in the brick draws every season, making it even crazier when they blow up their creations and bricks fly everywhere. A brick stocking room outside the stage is very well arranged in the same way as the counterpart on stage, to guarantee fast residues. “We have a magical team of helpers who help [clean up] When the explosion takes place. Jamie and I tried it a few times. It’s … a lot. Those pieces absolutely come everywhere, “says Corbett laughing.
