After their first defeat under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool will look to bounce back in the Premier League on Saturday when they take on Bournemouth.
Despite losing to Nottingham Forest last weekend, Liverpool are in fourth place in the Premier League with three wins in four games, with mainly positive results now that Slot has settled at Anfield. They will be tasked with keeping the strong start going when they host Bournemouth, who have won just one game in the league so far but are looking to build one of England’s best attacks.
Here’s what you need to know before you tune in.

Storylines
After a few easy wins for Slot, the past week has added some color to what his Liverpool team could look like in the future. They clearly struggled on Saturday against Nottingham Forest, who played in a low defensive block that limited the Reds despite taking 14 shots on target. However, they showed the ability to come back on Tuesday as they fell 1-0 behind after just three minutes but went on to win 3-1 at AC Milan in their opening match of the UEFA Champions League.
While Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz led the team with three goals each, Tuesday’s visit to Milan gave Liverpool the chance to show off their wide range of goal-scoring capabilities. Dominik Szoboszlai got on the scoresheet, as did two centre-backs: Ibrahima Konate and aerial threat Virgil van Dijk. Salah and Diaz will likely still be the main men we can rely on in attack against Bournemouth, but it feels like Slot’s Liverpool are already starting to flex their muscles as the Dutchman settles into the new job.
Prediction
Apart from the loss to Forest, everything seems to be going in the right direction for Slot in his first few weeks at Liverpool, so expect another easy performance for the Reds against a Bournemouth side who are still perfecting their game plan. Choose: Liverpool 2, Bournemouth 0
