Mark Scout’s two worlds collide in the “Severance” Season 2 trailer, as the Lumon employee searches for his dead wife — who, of course, isn’t actually dead.
‘The woman from my date passed away a few years ago. Except the woman is Mrs. Casey,” Mark (Adam Scott) tells his colleagues as they compare their brief experiences in the outside world. “We have to get her out of here.”
In season 2, Mark, Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Irving (John Turturro) return to Lumon after the so-called Overtime Contingency Protocol awakens their inner selves outside of work. At the end of season 1, Dylan learned he had a child, Irving suffered heartbreak after seeing Burt (Christopher Walken) was married, Helly discovered she is the daughter of Lumon’s CEO, and Mark found out his wife is still alive – somewhere in the office.
Mark, Helly, Dylan and Irving have become celebrities after Lumon’s much-publicized misstep. Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) tells his employees that they have become “the face of layoff reform.”
The trailer also hints at tying up some loose ends from season 1, like Mark discovering Mrs. Cobel’s (Patricia Arquette) alter ego Mrs. Selvig, that kiss between Mark and Helly, and what the heck is going on with those goats .
“Severance” returns on Apple TV+ on January 17. Created by Dan Erickson and executive produced by Ben Stiller, the sci-fi thriller also stars Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus and Dichen Lachman. New cast members have been added for season 2, including Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban, Merrit Wever, Robby Benson, Stefano Carannante, John Noble and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
