While it’s been a while since our last Marvel movie or series, the universe’s Phase Five will soon be getting some exciting new additions. This is the second installment in what Marvel has dubbed the ‘Multiverse Saga’.
With highly anticipated sequels like Deadpool & Wolverine and the return of Netflix favorite Daredevil, Phase Five has a lot to offer in the superhero world. If you want to see how the order of movies and shows evolves, read on.

Marvel Phase Five order
You’d be forgiven for being confused about which series and films are still included in Phase Five of the MCU, as many things have been shifted and delayed.
Here’s a quick summary of what’s been released so far (the films are in bold):
- Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
- Guardians of the Galaxy 3
- Secret invasion
- Loki season 2
- The miracles
- What if…? season 2 (2023)
- Echo
And this is what’s coming:
- Deadpool & Wolverine (July 26, 2024)
- Agatha All the Time (September 18, 2024)
- Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025)
- Daredevil: Born Again (March 2025)
- Ironheart (2025, date TBA)
Daredevil: Born Again was originally scheduled for release in the spring of this year. However, the show underwent a massive creative overhaul, with some writers being cut by Disney. That’s why it has now been postponed.
Thunderbolts and Blade were originally in this lineup, but now fall into the Phase 6 category – more on that below.
Which films and series are left in MCU Phase 5?
If you want to know more about the upcoming releases, we have some quick summaries for you. This year, there is only one Marvel film planned and no other Disney+ series have been confirmed yet.
Deadpool and Wolverine
Theatrical release date: July 26, 2024
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Matthew MacFadyen
The third Deadpool movie will merge with the MCU, and that’s not the only multiversal crossover taking place. Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine from the X-Men franchise. This will all happen thanks to the help of the TVA, an organization that looks after all the different branches of time.
Agatha all the time
Disney+ release date: September 18, 2024
Starring: Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza, David Lengel
The MCU character with the best theme song ever is getting her own series. First introduced in WandaVision, Agatha Harkness has a rich history to explore as a witch – something that will no doubt be detailed in this new original.
The series went through several name changes before finally being confirmed as ‘Agatha All along’. The first trailer shows the witch breaking free from Wanda’s spell, but her freedom comes at a price.
Captain America: Brave New World
Theatrical release date: February 14, 2025
Starring: Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford
Captain America is getting a fourth installment, with Anthony Mackie once again taking up the shield after his appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The subtitle was changed from New World Order to Brave New World on June 6, 2023.
The first one was quite interesting, since in the comics this organization is led by none other than the Red Skull. Could we see the return of another iconic villain?
Daredevil: Born Again
Disney+ release date: Spring 2025
Starring: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio
The Netflix Marvel series Daredevil is getting a reboot, with Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin returning in the roles of hero and villain respectively. In the comics, the Born Again arc is one of the lowest parts of Matt’s life, with Fisk discovering his true identity and exploiting it massively.
Iron heart
Disney+ release date: TBD
Starring: Dominique Thorne
Ironheart follows Riri Williams, a brilliant young inventor who makes her own armor, just like the ones worn in the Iron Man films. We’ve already met Riri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, so this series might give us more of an idea about how she creates her technology, and how her new contacts in Wakanda help her on her superhero journey with Tony Stark out of the picture.
Like several other 2023 Disney+ Marvel series, it has been postponed indefinitely.
Which MCU Phase Five movies and TV series have already been released?
If you’re catching up on previous Marvel movies and shows, here’s what you need to know. These are all arranged chronologically by release date:
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors
The third Ant-Man film once again follows Scott Lang as he adjusts to life after Thanos and builds a relationship with his daughter Cassie. However, he and his family are in over their heads when they are dragged into the Quantum Realm and come face to face with Kang the Conqueror.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Starring: Christ Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chukwudi Iwuji
James Gunn is back in the Marvel fold for his third Guardians film, long delayed by Disney firing and then rehiring him. Full. 3 is a direct sequel to the Guardians Holiday Special and will be the final appearance for the gang as they take on High Evolutionary.
Secret invasion
Starring: Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke
Nick Fury is back and is joined by Ben Mendelsohn’s Skrull Talos from Captain Marvel. This Disney+ series explores one of the comics’ iconic arcs: the secret Skrull invasion of Earth, when shapeshifters covertly replaced countless political figures across the planet in an attempt to take it over.
Loki season 2
Starring: Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Ke Huy Quan, Gugu Mbatha-Raw
Loki was the first Disney+ series to receive a confirmed second season. The Trickster God returns to the TVA, where the timelines are turned upside down after Sylvie kills He Who Remains, unleashing Kang on the multiverse.
The miracles
Starring: Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, Zawe Ashton
The second outing of Captain Marvel is directed by Nia DaCosta – the creator behind 2021’s Candyman reboot. Brie Larson is back in the lead role, but is joined by Teyonah Parris’ new Ms. Marvel, Iman Vellani and Monica Rambeau, following her appearance in WandaVision. The film follows the trio as they keep switching places. They must work together to find out the reason for this.
What if…? season 2
Starring: Jeffrey Wright
The animated series What If…? is back for a second season, featuring more alternate storylines of characters from the Marvel Universe, as told by The Watcher. This series features stories of Steve Rogers working for the enemy, Iron Man and Gamora teaming up, and more.
Echo
Starring: Alaqua Cox, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon, Vincent D’Onofrio
Echo is a character introduced in Hawkeye and is the first Native American hero in the MCU and one of the few deaf characters in the franchise. Maya struggles to find her own path after breaking off her relationship with her so-called “uncle,” Wilson Fisk.
