Ohio State Buckeye fans are still dealing with the fallout from their loss to hated rival Michigan… OSU legend Maurice Clarett has started looking ahead, telling us the Buckeyes will be in the playoffs, with a chance to win a championship!
Babcock caught up with the former national champion after the Wolverines’ 13-10 victory over his alma mater on Saturday. While Clarett was hopeful the team would compete for the Big Ten championship this weekend, he won’t cry over spilled milk.
“I’m not the person to cry about one moment when there’s a lot of other things ahead of you. The play-offs are still around the corner. There’s a good chance we’ll be playing here on December 21 or 22, and we have a handful of games.”
“There’s still a season to play. That’s my focus, and I think that’s what the young guys and the team need to focus on.”
Still, many fans are outraged by the loss, with some even calling for a head coach Ryan Day to be kicked to the curb. While Clarett acknowledges that Day bears some responsibility for the loss, it should not fall solely on him.
“It’s just not the coach’s fault,” Clarett said. “It’s the players that have to execute. You can’t have two turnovers, one coming out of the end zone inside the 10 and then going in inside the 10. You can’t have that, you can’t have two missed yards.” goals.”
“He is to blame, but he is not the only one to blame. You lose as a team.”
The selection show takes place on Sunday morning… so fans won’t have to wait long to hear their fate!
