Melania Trump’s musings on New York City left social media users giggling and scratching their heads.
“New York City captivated my heart from the moment I arrived 28 years ago today. This exciting city is not only my home; it is a colorful canvas where dreams come to life. New York’s iconic skyline and vibrant culture inspire me every day,” the former first lady wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
Her X account is only lightly active, posting from time to time to mark holidays, sell products, and share statements.
Melania Trump, who was largely absent from the public eye during her husband’s 2024 campaign, emigrated to the US in 1996. She was working as a model in New York when she met her future husband at a party.
Melania Trump’s view of the city apparently differs from that of the Republican candidate called it “dirty and unsafe.” In recent years, Donald Trump and his right-wing allies have devastated the Democratic stronghold.
“I was drunk in the back of an Uber,” one social media user joked, sharing Melania Trump’s comments about the city. Others invoked Carrie Bradshaw, wondered if the message was written with artificial intelligence and raised eyebrows at the use of “home.”
