Millie Bobby Brown cries while reading 'Stranger Things' farewell letter on set

Millie Bobby Brown broke down in tears while reading a farewell letter to the cast and crew of ‘Stranger Things’ after her final day of filming for the blockbuster Netflix series. The streamer announced on December 20 that production on the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” had wrapped. Brown marked the occasion by posting a gallery of photos on social media from her nine years creating the show. She was only 11 years old when production first started in November 2015.

Brown’s photo memories of her nearly decade-long shoot on “Stranger Things” included a final video of her sobbing on set as she said goodbye to the crew. She hugged a crew member after telling everyone on set she loved them.

‘Shouldn’t graduation bring relief? As if you are happy to leave the teachers and classmates behind. I don’t,” she said as she burst into tears. ‘I’m not ready to leave you yet. I love you all and will forever carry with me the memories and bonds we created together as a family. I love you, thank you.”

Brown has been a regular on ‘Stranger Things’ as Eleven since the show’s pilot episode, and the series’ popularity made her and her young co-stars global superstars. She told me Women’s clothing everyday last year that she was ready for “Stranger Things” to end with its upcoming fifth season.

“I think I’m ready,” Brown said of the ending of “Stranger Things.” “It’s been such a big factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to blossom and prosper and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.

Brown’s co-star David Harbor shared similar thoughts with Discuss movie around the same time, saying, “The funny thing is, when I started the show, I never wanted it to end. That’s why I love the show. I think it’s a great show, even though I wasn’t there. Now we’re almost nine years removed from filming the first season, and I think it’s time to end it.”

Harbor continued, “But of course it’s very bittersweet. You know, there’s a sadness in it. But we have also all grown up. It’s time for us to leave that nest and try other things and other projects. And to have the Duffer Brothers try different things too. I mean, those guys are so talented. I want to see what they come up with next. So it’s bittersweet, but it’s definitely time.”

The final season of ‘Stranger Things’ will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
