Millie Bobby Brown Slams Press to 'bully' her about changing body

Millie Bobby Brown has posted a video on Instagram in which she condemns the press for ‘bullying’ her about her changing physical appearance. The star “Stranger Things” evoked specific articles and writers for their “disturbing” cover that is dedicated to “my face, my body, dissect my choices.”

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old,” Brown wrote to the video in the caption. “I grew up for the world, and for some reason people can’t grow with me. Instead, they pretend to stay frozen on time, as I would still have to look like I did on season 1 of ‘Stranger Things’. And because I don’t do that, I am now a target. ”

Brown shot “the people who are so desperate to bring down young women” and continued to mention some of the writers and articles that have focused on her. She immediately reads some of the headlines for those recently written about her, from “Why are his gene Zers such as Millie Bobby Brown so very aging?” “What did Millie Bobby Brown do her face?” She was particularly disgusted by one article (“Matt Lucas from Little Britain takes Savage Swipe to Millie Bobby Brown’s new ‘Mama makeover’ look”) because it was “an insult instead of wondering why an adult man mocks the appearance of a young woman.”

In recent weeks, the actor has made various red carpet performances on the publicity tour for her new Netflix original film, “The Electric State”. She attended the Hollywood premiere of the film last month and recently arrived at the Brit Awards.

“This is not a journalism. This is bullying, “said Brown about the coverage of the press. “The fact that adult writers spend their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it is disturbing. The fact that some of these articles were written by women? Even worse. We always talk about supporting and elevating young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to break them down for clicking. Desillusioned people can’t handle a girl to be a woman on her conditions, not theirs. I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to meet the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t see a girl becoming a woman. I will not be ashamed of what I look like, how I dress or how I present myself. ‘

Brown continued: “We have become a society where it is so much easier to criticize than to pay a compliment. Why is the knee shock reaction to say something terrible instead of saying something fun? If you have a problem with that, I have to wonder – what is it that you actually make so uncomfortable? Let’s do better. Not only for me, but for every young girl who earns it to grow up without being afraid to be torn apart for normal existence. ”

The actor is preparing for a busy 2025 with the release of “The Electric State” later this month and the last season of “Stranger Things” is expected to be later this year. She is one of the most popular actors of Netflix, not only thanks to “strange things”, but also her blockbuster streaming titles “Enola Holmes” and “Damsel.”
