As lieutenant governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan (D) has had to consult with Governor Tim Walz (D) on a number of issues, but she recently opened up about an issue that fell somewhat outside his job description.
Flanagan told Politico in a story published Wednesday that, shortly after the 2018 election discovered that her daughter had lice. Her first instinct was to call Walz.
“Help, my child has lice and I don’t know what to do,” she recalled. Flanagan admitted he’s been “super freaked out” since ‘wI had never had to deal with it before.”
However, Walz knew what he had to do and told Flanagan: “Go to Target and then FaceTime me from the aisle.”
Once she got there, she called Walz, who showed her all the different options available.
“He said, ‘This is the one you’re getting,’ and then he said, ‘When you get home, FaceTime me again,’” she said.
Flanagan said she made the next call from her bathroom while picking nits from her daughter’s hair.
Recommendations against lice shampoo aren’t the only way Walz has shown he’s a good neighbor.
