Kuiper Koch‘S has a lot of love for the convicted murderer he played… and says he cares about him Erik Menendez – and meeting him in prison was a treat.
The actor – who plays Erik in Ryan Murphy’s ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ – spoke to Term at the Motion Picture Academy Gala Saturday night … and he says meeting Erik was “rewarding.”
Cooper says preparing to play Erik was a bit like preparing to meet him too… and explained that after hours of preparation, he developed a trust and care for Menendez.
As you know Erik hit ‘Monsters’ as an unfair portrayal of the lives of him and his brother Lyle… and we told you that shortly afterward the two were visited by Koch and Kim Kardashian.
Cooper said yes got a hug of EM in the prison where Eric and Lyle are serving life sentences for the murder of their parents 35 years ago. He later revealed that he had spoken to Erik, who expressed his displeasure with the series before it came out – so the criticism wasn’t surprising to anyone involved.
Like many people, including numerous members of the Menendez family — Kim came out after the meeting and said to the brothers deserve to be released out of prison.
The Los Angeles District Attorney is currently review their case and decide whether his office will push for a new trial or a grudge against the Menendezs that could release them from prison.
It looks like Cooper will be waiting with open arms to welcome the men back into society when they get out… with lots of love and care.
