Motorola isn’t going to slow down this year.
First the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra came onto the market, later joined by the foldable Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. All these devices are now also available in Europe, including Great Britain.
Now the latest rumors suggest that the Edge series will soon be expanded with more models. Here’s everything you need to know about the entire Edge 50 range, including the upcoming regular Edge 50 and Edge 50 Neo.
When will the Motorola Edge 50 series be released?
Initially, the Edge 50 series was launched on April 3, 2024 in India, before being released there on April 9, 2024. However, the worldwide launch did not last long: it took place on April 16, 2024.
From July 12, 2024, the entire range is now on sale in the UK, including the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra. However, there’s no word on a possible US release.
As expected, they arrived at the same time as last year’s models. For context, this is when recent models launched in Europe:

Additionally, MySmartPrice reports that Motorola is expanding its Edge 50 family by adding a new ‘vanilla’ Edge 50 model.
According to the report, this new model has been certified by several global authorities such as TDRA, FCC, EEC, TDRA of UAE and most recently by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which seems to confirm its upcoming launch in India and internationally. While the BIS certification does not provide specific details about the specifications of the device, it indicates that the launch is imminent.
It may be joined by the Edge 50 Neo, with leaker Evan Blass posting official-looking renders and GSMArena claiming it’s “expected to launch soon.”
How much does the Motorola Edge 50 series cost?
Here are the starting prices for the phones currently available in Europe, including the UK:
- Edge 50 Fusion – £349/€349
- Edge 50 Pro – £599/€699
- Edge 50 Ultra – £849/€999
The Edge 50 Fusion is competitively priced and costs less than both its predecessor, the Edge 30 Fusion, and the weakest of the previous generation, the Edge 40.
The reintroduction of the Ultra model has also slightly increased maximum prices. The Edge 50 Pro is no longer the most powerful in the series and the price has been reduced compared to the Edge 40 Pro.

The Edge 50 Ultra will cost you an extra £150 compared to last year’s Pro model. However, the price is still lower than the £999 Pixel 8 Pro and £1,249 Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will be the Edge 50 Ultra’s main rivals in terms of AI features.
As for the expected Edge 50, the price should be somewhere between £349/€349 and £599/€699. And the Edge 50 Neo should be cheaper than them all.
For context, here’s how much the previous models cost at their initial launch:
What specifications and features does the Motorola Edge 50 series have?
With the Edge 50 series now officially unveiled in Europe, we’ve confirmed the specs for all three phones. Here’s what you can expect from them.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro
The Edge 50 Pro has a sleek design with contoured edges, an aluminum frame, and vegan leather or pearl finish options. It also features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
On the front, it has a virtually bezel-less 6.7-inch 144Hz pOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+. It also includes a peak brightness of 2000 nits and Pantone validated colors for improved accuracy. Notably, it includes a 50MP front camera with autofocus and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the back there is a 50MP main camera with OIS, 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 13MP ultra-wide lens that doubles as a macro camera for close-up shots.
It offers video recording with up to 4K UHD in 30 fps or FHD resolution in 60 or 30 fps.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which is paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. It also has a 4,500mAh battery and fast charging capabilities, including 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Edge 50 Pro weighs 174.9 grams and measures 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9 mm. Available as standard in the colors Black Beauty and Luxe Lavender, but there is also a limited edition Moonlight Pearl variant, designed by company Mazzucchelli 1849.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
The Edge 50 Fusion is a more budget-friendly option that still offers a premium design with its curved 6.7-inch Full HD+ pOLED display and 144Hz refresh rate. It’s also durable thanks to its IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front.
However, it falls back to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
On the back, it also features a slightly stripped-down camera setup of 50MP main camera with OIS and 13MP ultra-wide lens, while on the front there is a 32MP selfie camera.
The phone offers video recording in UHD at 30 fps or FHD at both 30 and 60 fps.

The Edge 50 Fusion has a 5000 mAh cell. Motorola says it offers more than 30 hours of battery life, but doesn’t say anything about charging speeds.
The phone weighs 174.9 grams and measures 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9 mm. It’s available in Forest Blue, Hot Pink and Marshmallow Blue, all with a textured back, the latter having a vegan leather finish.
Motorola Edge 50Ultra
The Edge 50 Ultra, the most complete of the three, has a thin sandblasted aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 rating for even better protection.

On the front, it features a 6.67-inch Super HD pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2500 nits peak brightness. There is also a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 paired with 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage. When it comes to charging, the Edge 50 Ultra packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 125W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging. It also features 10W wireless power distribution.
The device will be available in three colors including Peach Fuzz and Forest Gray (both vegan leather) and Nordic Wood. It weighs 197 grams and measures 161.09 x 72.38 x 8.59 mm, making it the heaviest of the three, despite having a slightly smaller screen and battery.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo
Motorola’s Edge 50 Neo is expected to launch soon, with detailed renders shared by Evan Blass (via GSMArena) revealing four color options: Grisaille (black), Nautical Blue, Poinciana (red) and Latte (beige).
The device appears to have three cameras at the rear. The camera specs suggest a 50Mp main camera, a 10Mp telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 13Mp ultra-wide camera.
The Edge 50 Neo is said to be available in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations, but that’s about all we know for now.
Motorola Edge50
Very little information has emerged about the Edge 50 at this time.
Previously, an FCC certification (via GSMArena) revealed that the Edge 50 will have a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and 5G support.
Further details are expected to be released soon.
Software and Moto AI
All phones in the series are available out-of-the-box with Android 14 and the newly designed Hello UX, Motorola’s Android skin. The biggest upgrade, however, is moto AI, which allows artificial intelligence to compete with the likes of Samsung and Google.
It offers extra customization, intuitive gestures, Family Space for kids and Moto Secure for extended security settings. It also introduces the Smart Connect feature for seamless integration between Lenovo and Motorola devices, delivering a true multi-device experience. This includes support for external displays and easy data synchronization.
It also introduces the Photo Enhancement Engine in the Edge 50 Ultra, powered by AI, which helps create perfect photos by combining settings from multiple shooting modes.
It refines images for optimal details, clarity, highlights, shadows, colors and bokeh. New features such as Adaptive Stabilization can dynamically adjust stabilization levels, while Auto Focus Tracking keeps subjects in focus. Action Shot optimizes photos in low light and Long Exposure enables creative motion capture without the need for special camera equipment.
Adaptive Stabilization dynamically adjusts stabilization levels, Auto Focus Tracking keeps subjects in focus, Action Shot optimizes details in challenging lighting conditions and Long Exposure enables creative motion capture with a single tap, all without the need for professional equipment.
In terms of updates, Motorola promises to provide three years of Android version upgrades and four years of security updates for the Edge 50 series. That’s decent for the Fusion, but a bit disappointing for the Pro and Ultra models.
