Bryar, previously a sound engineer for fellow rock band The Used, was My Chemical Romance’s longest-running drummer, joining the group in 2004 after replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier.
He said in a 2016 interview: “I left a really good touring gig, where I was a tour manager and making sound. I left that job to join a band that was dirty, had bad equipment, a broken, smoking, death -trap van and was poor.
Bryar added: “I was so happy with the offer. Long before we started recording Welcome to the Black ParadeI knew that [MCR] were special and I wanted to participate. I wanted to help the band evolve and be able to shred with them every night.”
