Luna al-Shiblthe communications advisor to Syrian President Bashar Assad, has died after a car accident in Damascus.
The incident has raised suspicions of foul play, pointing to a possible assassination attempt by Syria’s First Lady, RadarOnline.com has learned.
This is reported by the pro-Qatari Arab newspaper Al-Jadeedthe car accident that led to Shibl’s death was no ordinary accident.
Initially, the communications advisor was taken to hospital with serious injuries, including a serious brain haemorrhage. However, her condition later deteriorated and doctors announced her death.
The report suggests the collision was intentional, pointing to a sinister motive behind the tragic incident.
The driver of an armored vehicle involved in the crash has been arrested, leading to further intrigue surrounding the circumstances of the event.
Shibl’s untimely death revealed a complicated web of political animosity and personal revenge. Her unpopularity and numerous opponents, including President Assad’s wife, Asma al-Assadshedding light on the challenges she faced during her tenure.
Asma, who previously tried to have Shibl removed from her position after rumors of an affair between the Syrian president and his adviser.
As the only Druze person in the president’s inner circle, Shibl’s perceived connections to power did not shield her from controversy.
Allegations of espionage and treason surfaced, with reports linking her to distributing sensitive information to foreign entities. The subsequent investigation into her relatives, including her brother and husband, adds to the intrigue surrounding her sudden death.
Shibl’s brother, who held a senior military position in the palace, was suspected of passing intelligence to Israel and is under investigation pending further decisions.
Her husband was arrested on embezzlement and bribery charges shortly before he attempted to flee to Russia.
