Natalie Portman has fallen for the charm of a familiar shoe.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen my grandmother choosing the same shoe for her most important events: square in shape, rounded at the toe and highlighted by a wide, mid-height heel. It seems Portman appreciates them too.
The actress recently appeared on The view to promote her new Apple TV+ miniseries Lady in the lake, in an outfit composed of elevated classic pieces. She wore flared jeans with patch pockets on the front, a white knitted top and the shoes that caught our attention: black patent block heels with a decorative silver plate. The always trendy shoes are a Dior design, just like the blue canvas book bag from Portman.
Although Portman chose to bring her granny shoes with her during the dog days of summer (the temperatures in NYC have been scorching lately) the heels are also a great option for fall and winter; they go well with long A-line dresses, classic suits and midi skirts. In Portman’s case, they were the perfect addition to an otherwise casual look, making her denim a little more dressy.
With black sunglasses, tiny earrings and a no-makeup makeup look, Natalie Portman proved that sometimes less really is more, especially when it comes to our grandmothers’ favorite heel.
