Nerdio Nobs $ 500 million to provide virtual desktops on Azure

NerdioA platform that is designed to simplify how companies implement and manage Microsoft Cloud Technologies, has collected $ 500 million in a Series C finance round.

The startup based in Chicago says that the appreciation has now quadrupled since its series B round two years ago, and now firmly in a unicorn area, although the company would not reveal specific appreciation.

“We do not reveal the specific rating, but it is north of $ 1 billion,” Nerdio Chief Revenue Officer Joseph Landes told Techcrunch via e -mail.

Nerdio played from an “IT-AS-A-SERVICE” company called Adar in 2020, with Adar fall under Private Equity – and nerdio Fork a path As a dedicated cloud management service provider for customers who include PayPal, Sony and Comcast.

Nerdio focuses on companies that want to optimize their cloud infrastructure implementations and costs. Virtual desktops, for Non -Intadden, are computer environments that are executed on external servers instead of physical computers, giving users access to all their apps, files and configurations on every device via the internet. Nerdio praises a more modern cloud-native approach to traditional legacy players such as Citrix, who started before the Cloud Computing Revolution started.

This is particularly relevant at a time when millions of people have embraced remote and hybrid work environments because they have safe access to all their work wherever they are.

“Managing cloud environments is complex and expensive – it usually requires a lot of specialized technical expertise and a mix of valuable, siled tools,” Landes said. “Nerdio offers a single, extensive platform with which organizations can manage their Microsoft Cloud environments without extra skills, tools or workflows.”

Nerdio would not confirm what the ownership rates are about the strip investors, but it said that the founders “retain a significant interest in the company”.

Nerdio says it is planning to use his investment to improve its product setup in important Microsoft services, including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 and Microsoft 365. The company also says it is planning to strengthen its workforce that currently has 300 employees.

“We are planning to grow that number considerably as we build our global presence scales and customer support and technical teams,” Landes said.
