As rom-coms continue to dominate the holidays, the streaming service is starting to rival basic networks like Hallmark and Lifetime in terms of seasonal content. For 2024, fans can expect a star-studded cast in a handful of films guaranteed to get them in the mood for cocoa, Christmas carols and romance.
Earlier this year, Netflix unveiled its first three films; Hot icystarring Hallmark darling Lacey Chabert, Lindsay Lohans expectant Our little secret and the Christmas musical Meet me next Christmas with Pentatonix and Christina Milian. This was added in May 2024 The cheerful gentleman to his slate, which will appear Britt Robertson as a former dancer from the big city who tries to save her parents’ small town store.
“My character Ashley has been a successful Broadway dancer throughout her adult career. She returns to her hometown and is faced with figuring out what she wants for her future, while also reinventing her parents’ local business,” shared Robertson. The film also plays a leading role Chad Michael Murray as Lucas, Ashley’s love interest, and one of the men in Ashley’s Christmas-themed revue. (This is the fourth time Murray has portrayed a character named Lucas since he rose to fame as Lucas Scott One Tree Hill.)
“Luke is friendly, confident and slightly sarcastic,” Murray said of his character. “He works as a contractor and helps the family that owns a bar called the Rhythm Room. He finds himself in an unfamiliar situation and is pushed to the limits of his comfort.”
As for why Murray took on the role, he told the streaming giant: “Holiday movies bring so many of us the peace and tranquility we love to enjoy during the holidays. These films bring us together and give us adventures that we can enjoy as a family.”

‘Meet me next Christmas’

Starring: Christina Milian, Kofi Siriboe, Kalen Allen and the cast of Pentatonix
Synopsis: Directed by Rusty Cundieff, Meet me next Christmas follows the Christmas journey of Layla (Milian), a woman whose search for a fairytale romance with the man of her dreams puts her in a race against time to get tickets to New York City’s hottest performance: the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert .

‘The Merry Gentlemen’
