Netflix has released a new trailer for Season 2 of “Squid Game,” revealing terrifying new challenges in the colorful death match.
In the second part of the popular Korean thriller series, premiering on December 26, the winning Player 456 (played by Lee Jung-jae) returns to the sadistic competition to put an end to Squid Game and save lives .
Back inside, he tries to guide the other 455 participants through a fatal round of red light, green light, but his pleas are ignored as bullets fly.
The trailer for season 2 sees 456 and co. fight the guards and try to survive new deadly challenges.
Lee stars in season 2 of “Squid Game” alongside returning cast member Wi Ha-jun as Hwang Jun-ho, and Lee Byung-hun as the mysterious frontman. Hwang Dong-hyuk is the series creator and serves as director and executive producer, while Kim Ji-yeon also serves as EP.
It was previously announced that “Squid Game” would return for a third season, which will also be the show’s last. “Squid Game” originally premiered in 2021 and quickly became the most-watched show in Netflix history. It currently has over 2.2 billion hours watched, which equates to approximately 265 million views Netflix’s Best TV Chart of All Time.
Season 1 was also nominated for 17 Emmys, with the show winning six, including one for Best Actor in a Drama for Lee and another for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for Lee You-mi.
