WhatsApp is going up again by introducing support for events in one-on-one chats.
According to Wabetainfo, the function, which has so far has been limited to group scale and communities, is now its way to private messages.
With this new addition, WhatsApp users can be able to plan meetings, set memories and organize personal obligations directly in their chats, which eliminates the need for a separate agenda app.
Whether it is a working deadline with a colleague, a dinner plan with a friend or a simple reminder to call someone, the position is expected to ensure that both parties stay on the same page. When an event is made, the recipient easily has the option to accept or refuse.
One of the striking functions is the possibility to link an event to a video or speech call, so that communication is further streamlined. For example, if two people set a planned call, WhatsApp ensures that both are reminded at the right time, reducing the opportunities for missed agreements.

This step seems to be an attempt to compete with Google Agenda and position itself as an all-in-one platform for messages and event planning.
For many, this can be a very attractive option, especially in the light of recent reports of phishing lighting that are aimed at Google Agenda users.
However, as with all WhatsApp Beta functions, it can take weeks or even months before it becomes available to everyone. At the moment we do not know the exact release date of this update.
It is said that some science testers who use the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store already have access, which free up the way for a wider rollout in the future.
This update is the last in a long series of new functions that have recently been added to the app, including the iPhone app that receives a large free upgrade.
