Ninja’s 9.5-liter Double Stack XL is the brand’s newest and most innovative air fryer, cramming four cooking zones into a compact form factor that won’t overwhelm a smaller countertop.
Or, at least, it was the latest until Ninja announced three new Double Stack models at IFA. These are coming to the UK, but we don’t know yet if they will be available in the US.
We were there to see them in person. You can compare them with the best Ninja air fryers and cookers currently available in our overview and browse all our favorite products from IFA in our IFA awards article.

At 7.6 liters it is even more compact than the original 9.5 liter model. It has a very similar design, but it is not nearly as deep.
We rate the original DoubleStack highly, but when we tested it (see our review), we found that its depth puts it above other countertop appliances – meaning it’s not a perfect solution for every kitchen.
That shouldn’t be a problem with the new compact model.
Each cooking drawer has a capacity of 3.8 liters and has the same functionality as the previous model. So you can use two different cooking methods at the same time, just enable the synchronization function and let them finish at the same time.
Ninja thinks there may still be enough food in there to feed six people. We think that’s somewhat optimistic, but with two cooking zones per basket it certainly maximizes space. In each drawer you can prepare 400 g of fries or a 1.2 kg roast chicken.
It’s available in black, instead of the dark gray of the original model, and we love this little model. Ninja hasn’t announced the price or release date yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as we know more.

Ninja also had the SL451 on display. This is another new DoubleStack XL model. It is very similar to the original, with a 9.5 liter capacity, except it comes with a boiling probe. What this means is that it is a better option for preparing fresh meat and fish and getting perfect results, rather than preparing frozen food where it is simply a matter of following the instructions on the packaging.
It has the same six cooking functions as its predecessor: air frying, max. crispy, roasting, baking, reheating and dehydrating.
Again, no price or release date has been confirmed.
Limited white Double Stack XL

The third model Ninja has unveiled is exactly the same as the original 9.5-litre Double Stack, except it’s white, and will only be available at Currys.
While we think the white model looks good when you put it down, it will obviously take a little more work to make it look good once it’s installed in your kitchen. Gray and black appliances are good at hiding a little bit of sauce or oil on your stovetop, but a white appliance will reveal any stray glob.
We expect this to cost the same as the original, which you can buy for £229.99 from Curries. Unless you like cleaning, we recommend going for the original gray model. Read our review of the Double Stack XL to find out if it’s for you.
