Confession: RescueMD’s DNA Repair Complex is one of my favorite skincare products, possibly… ever. I have been using it consistently for over a year and it has drastically improved the appearance of my dark spots. After I had my first child a year and a half ago, I also used the DNA Repair Complex on my stomach to treat abdominal band scars (of which I no longer have any traces). The secret is in lapachol the brand’s key ingredient found in the bark of the lapacho tree and helps soothe redness and inflammation.
Lapachol is also in the body cream formula, which also contains rice proteins, rosemary extract and sunflower extract, and is made to hydrate the skin while treating uneven texture and pigmentation. Just like the facial serum I love so much, the body cream is lightweight, non-greasy, melts into the skin very quickly and leaves it feeling naturally soft. It’s designed to be used from the neck down, so you can use it all over your body or concentrate on a specific area (such as the legs or abdomen if you have scarring or discoloration). Personally, I will focus this on the back of my arms where I have hyperpigmentation due to keratosis pilaris.
Yes, the price tag is very high for a body cream. But if you’re looking to treat specific concerns like scarring, texture, or hyperpigmentation, it might be worth saving your coins for a personal splurge (hey, the holidays are coming, so you have the perfect excuse).
