Olivia Rodrigo just cut her signature waist-skimming waves. “I feel like a brand new girl,” she tells me on the phone. “During the tour I had very long hair and it was difficult to take care of it. I wanted to eliminate the dead ends, so I chopped them off. It’s time for a new beginning.”
The heel (which the megastar follows with “It is not a bob!”) not only symbolizes a new start musically, freeing herself from the emotions associated with a world tour through 60 cities and 20 countries. ! – but also perfectly timed with today’s news: Rodrigo is the new face of the French makeup and skin care brand Lancome.
“I remember rummaging through my mother’s makeup bag and seeing Lancôme skincare in there,” says the 21-year-old. “The serum was one of the first things I put on my face before I really got into skin care.” Today she is in favor of it L’Absolue Rouge Crème in the color Caprice de Rouge– a slightly deep, fiery red – and Idôle liquid eyeliner to get the signature look she rocked Innards Tour. She’s wearing both products, plus the Teint Idôle Ultra Wear Foundation in shade 345N, for the new campaign out today. “I know it’s weird, but I’m really excited to take a photo of the campaign at the airport. It will be such a wild moment.”
It’s only been three years since Rodrigo’s first (of many) hits “Driver’s license” captivated the world, and since then she has released two studio albums, won three Grammys and been named Time’s ‘Entertainer of the Year’, just for starters.
