Olympic medal winner Omari Jones is steppin ‘in the ring for his boxing debut on March 15 … and plans to make a powerful explanation with a knockout victory!
Jones – who won the bronze medal in boxing at the Olympic Games of 2024 Paris – spoke with TMZ Sports Days before his six-round box debut in the Caribe Royale in his hometown Orlando, Florida.
Jones – who signed Eddie HearnS Matchrome boxing promotion – is eager to show his skills for his family, friends and fans and themselves as the complete package as an elite boxer.
“I am ready to show my skills, speed, strength,” Jones told us, “and how I adapted to the pros from the amateur.”
To make his point, Jones, 22, will fight against 14-5 Alessio Mastronunzio.
Omari believes that Ko’ing will prove an experienced hunter that he is legitimate – and he will be ready if the opportunity occurs.
“When I see an opening to go for it, I’ll certainly finish it,” Jones said.
Even if Jones does not put Mastronunzio away, a professional hunter is a dream come true for him, and he is determined to achieve his first victory – of what he believes there will be a lot!
Regarding career goals, Omari shoots for the stars. One day he is anchored in the Boxing Hall of Fame.
