Anissa Meksen

Multiple Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion Anissa Meksen revealed that she has been training in mixed martial arts for quite some time.

As far as ‘C18’ goes, there’s no better time to take the plunge and make the jump to MMA than now.

During the ONE Friday Fights 92 virtual press conference, Meksen said she would like to take her talents to MMA if the right match offer presents itself:

“You know I can fight in Muay Thai and kickboxing – for me it’s all the same. But maybe I want to try MMA because I’ve been training in MMA for four years, so why not make my debut?”

Fortunately for Anissa Meksen, ONE Championship athletes can easily transition to other combat disciplines through the stacked divisions of the world’s largest multi-sport combat sports organization.

Needless to say, the French-Algerian superstar could be an instant contender given her incredibly notable heritage.

Plus, there are plenty of great matches waiting for the 36-year-old striker if she decides to compete at atomweight or strawweight.

The Phuket Fight Club athlete has already competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing under the ONE banner. It appears that Meksen could very well become the promotion’s next three-sport athlete.

Anissa Meksen must first settle matters in the war against Cana

Before Anissa Meksen considers a move to MMA, she must focus fully on the challenge that awaits on December 20 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

‘C18’ hopes to give Japanese star Kana Morimoto a rude welcome to ONE Championship in their three-round atomweight kickboxing match at ONE Friday Fights 92: Sitthichai vs. Shadow.

After falling short in her last two world title fights, the decorated warrior is eager to prove she still belongs at the top of the food chain of women’s striking ranks.

ONE Friday Fights 92 will be broadcast live in Asian primetime in more than 190 countries around the world.
