Part Two Sets Of The Saints April Return

“Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints” officially returns to part two on Fox Nation from Friday 4 April and will roll out in Easter, Variety Can exclude exclusively, together with the first trailer.

From host, narrator, executive producer and Oscar winner Martin Scorsese, the docus series follows more than 2000 years of history and investigates religious figures such as Francis van Assisi, Moses The Black and Mary Magdalena. The first season contained Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, Sebastian and Maximilian Kolbe.

The first episode “Francis of Assisi” releases April 4 and takes place in the 13th century, follows Francis as he experiences the horrors of war and later finds a new meaning in life by starting a brotherhood and facing face-to-face with the leader Sultan al-Kamil. The second episode ‘Moses The Black’, which dropped on 11 April, follows the run -away slave Moses in the 4th century while giving up violence and his former life in favor of a remote desert monastery. The third episode, “Mary Magdalene”, falls on April 18 and follows Mary while she meets and becomes one of Jesus of Nazareth’s close followers, to his crucifixion.

The series is from Lionsgate Alternative Television and was developed by Scorsese and Matti Leshem for the studio, with Kent Jones Writing (“Hitchcock/Truffaut”). Executive producers In addition to Scorsese and Leshem, Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, Lisa Frechette, Yoshi Stone, Matt Loze, David Egger and Craig Piligian.

Recently Scorsese was in the Oscar conversation for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards. Scorsese has also directed countless documentaries, including “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan”, “George Harrison: Living in the Material World” and the docuseries “pretending it is a city.”
